Wat hield ons bezig in 1984;

Binnenland: 26 juni 1984 – in het Academisch Ziekenhuis Rotterdam-Dijkzicht werd voor het eerst in Nederland een succesvolle harttransplantatie uitgevoerd.

Buitenland: 15 september 1984 – Henry van Wales, de tweede zoon van Charles en Diana werd om 04.20 uur geboren in het St. Mary’s ziekenhuis in London.

Sport: 28 juli 1984 – de 13e Olympische Zomerspelen werden gehouden in Los Angeles. Voor de derde achtereenvolgende keer waren er boycotten van enkele landen. Ditmaal waren het onder andere Rusland en Roemenië die geen sporters naar Amerika stuurden.

Entertainment: 15 april 1984 – Terwijl het publiek toekeek, dacht dat het bij de show hoorde en hard applaudisseerde, stortte Tommy Cooper op het podium in elkaar na een hartaanval. Cooper werd 63 jaar oud.
