Wat hield ons bezig in 1986;

Binnenland:  De ontvoerders van Freddy Heineken worden door Frankrijk aan Nederland uitgeleverd.

Buitenland: Het 27ste Sovjet-partijcongres, waarop Gorbatsjovs positie als partijleider versterkt wordt, loopt ten einde. Wel stelt de Russische partijleider Michail Gorbatsjov stelt het Westen voor om de conventionale wapens en strijdkrachten in Europa, “van de Atlantische Oceaan tot de Oeral”, te beperken.

Sport:  Noord Hollander Steven Rooks wint de 21ste editie van de Amstel Gold Race.

Muziek: België wint het 31ste Eurovisiesongfestival in Bergen, Noorwegen. De 13-jarige Sandra Kim behaalt met J’aime la vie 176 punten.
