• GROOT NIEUWS! Earth Wind & Fire komt naar Nederland. 27 februari 1982 treden ze op in Ahoy Rotterdam.
• Soulnieuws over; Dina Ross, Richard “Dimples” Fields, Stevie Wonder en over een groot Funk Festival aan de Franse Riviera.
• Er is aandacht voor de nieuwe LP van Hamilton Bohannon – Alive.
• Op donderdag 10 december 1981 organiseert de TROS een grote Disco Party in de Meerpaal in Dronten. De Soulshow is er ’s avonds live bij, zo ook de Engelse funkband Level 42.

Wat hield ons bezig in 1981;

Binnenland: De twee laatste delen van de Schiphollijn worden officieel geopend: Schiphol-Leiden en Amsterdam Zuid-Amsterdam RAI. De treinen gaan rijden op 1 juni.

Buitenland:   De beruchte Yorkshire Ripper (Peter Sutcliffe) wordt opgepakt. Hij bracht sinds oktober 1975 dertien vrouwen op gruwelijke wijze om het leven.

Sport: Hennie Kuiper wint de Belgische wielerklassieker de Ronde van Vlaanderen.
