Deze Soulshow is uitgezonden op donderdag  22 oktober 1981 bij de Tros op Hilversum 3, met daarin o.a.:

• Vanavond een interview met de Nederlandse Fat Eddy Band.
• De Soulshow beleefd vanavond de primeur van de nieuwe LP van Diana Ross – Why do fools fall in love.
• In het tweede uur hoor je een interview met enkele leden van Kool & The Gang.
• Maarliefst vier binnenkomers in de Disco Action Top 20. De hoogste nieuweling vinden we op nummer 15; Arrow – Soca Rhumba.
• Er komt definitief geen Roller Disco Party, maar wel een live Soulshow vanuit Amsterdam met Live The Trammps.

Binnenland: Na een serie zeer massale demonstraties in verschillende Europese hoofdsteden beleeft Amsterdam met ruim 400.000 demonstranten tegen het NAVO-besluit tot plaatsing van kruisvluchtwapens met nucleaire lading in West-Europa, haar grootste demonstratie ooit. Ze werd georganiseerd door de linkse politieke partijen, de vakbeweging en de vredesbewegingen, waarin het IKV onder leiding van Mient Jan Faber een hoofdrol speelde.

Buitenland: In Engeland trouwt Prins Charles met Lady Diana Spencer.

Sport:  Giovanni Battaglin wint de wielerronde in zijn vaderland, de Ronde van Italië
