Wat hield ons bezig in 1981;

Binnenland: De twee laatste delen van de Schiphollijn worden officieel geopend: Schiphol-Leiden en Amsterdam Zuid-Amsterdam RAI. De treinen gaan rijden op 1 juni.

Buitenland: Een stuntman beklimt langs de buitenmuur de 110 verdiepingen hoge Willis Tower in Chicago. Het beklimmen van gebouwen wordt mode. 

Sport:   In het Olympisch Stadion wint AZ’67 de KNVB-beker door Ajax met 3-1 te verslaan. Hiermee veroveren de Alkmaarders voor het eerst, en tot op heden voor de enige maal, de dubbel.
