Wat hield ons bezig in 1987;

Binnenland:  Begin maart werd vooral de provincie Drenthe wordt getroffen door extreem veel ijzel. Voorwerpen worden bedekt door een ijslaag van ten minste 1 centimeter dik. Bomen en hoogspanningsmasten knappen af.

Buitenland: De grootste kanshebber op de Democratische kandidatuur voor de Amerikaanse presidentsverkiezingen, Gary Hart, stapt uit de verkiezingsrace nadat de pers zijn buitenechtelijke escapade met een fotomodel groot heeft opgeblazen.

Sport:  De Brabander Jan de Rooy wint de Dakar-rally in de categorie vrachtwagens. Bomincident tijdens de EK-voetbal kwalificatiewedstrijd tussen Nederland en Cyprus. Ondanks hevig protest van de Griekse voetbalbond wordt de uitslag niet omgezet in een reglementaire 0-3 nederlaag voor Oranje, maar mag volgens de UEFA de wedstrijd overgespeeld worden. Hierdoor kwalificeert Oranje zich alsnog voor het toernooi in 1988 in Duitsland, en wordt Europees Kampioen.
