• Aandacht voor de nieuwe LP van Jimmy Cliff – The Power And The Glory, met de nieuwe single Reggae Nights. Jimmy Cliff wordt op deze LP bijgestaan door Kool & The Gang, waarvan later in de uitzending de nieuwe single ook nog voorbij komt.
• Twee nieuwe binnenkomers in de Disco Action Top 20. De eerste vinden we op nummer 17 het is de lange uitvoering van het Montana Sextet – Who Need Enemies (With a Friend Like You)

Wat hield ons bezig in 1983;

Binnenland: in Leek opent de Groninger Commissaris van de Koningen Henk Vonhoff de clickets-fabriek. Clickets zijn magnetische balletjes die kortstondig een rage veroorzaakten waardoor er honderden miljoenen stuks van worden verkocht. De onderneming zou echter in een financieel debacle eindigen.

Buitenland: De Poolse vakbondsleider Lech Wałęsa krijgt de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede toegekend. De grote geldprijs die aan de onderscheiding is verbonden, wil Wałęsa ter beschikking stellen van de rooms-katholieke kerk in Polen.

Sport:  In de laatste wedstrijd van de kwalificatieronde voor het EK voetbal 1984 wint Spanje met 12-1 van Malta, net voldoende om zich te plaatsen ten koste van Nederland. Er gaan stemmen op dat spelers van Malta zijn omgekocht.
