Wat hield ons bezig in 1981;

Binnenland: In Nijmegen komt het tot hevige rellen tijdens en na de ontruiming van een aantal gekraakte woningen in de Piersonstraat. Het gaat allemaal om een ongewenste parkeergarage, die er uiteindelijk niet komt.

Buitenland: Bij verkiezingen in Zuid-Afrika – waarbij alleen blanken stemgerechtigd zijn – handhaaft de Nasionale Party zijn leidende rol, ondanks stemmenverlies. De regering verklaart te zullen vasthouden aan de politiek van apartheid.

Sport: FC Utrecht speelt de laatste voetbalwedstrijd in het oude stadion Galgenwaard. Supporters nemen ‘souvenirs’ mee naar huis en slopen daarvoor het halve stadion.
